Slow wifi download speed on mid-2012 Macbook Air

I have many devices using the same wifi network at my home. All except my mid-2012 Macbook Air have similar download speeds - around 70 Mbps. The other devices are an iPhone 6, late 2015 iMac and a mid-2015 Macbook Air. My mid-2012 MB Air only gets around 25 Mbps. The network is broadcast via a Time Capsule that is capable of 802.11ac and I suppose that is what it is using to broadcast the network (how can I tell?). Any suggestions that I should follow up on to find the problem? Thanks.

Nothing near the Time Capsule. I did run Wireless Diagnostics and it told me that the connection was working as expected. It also said that channels were crowded and that I should restart the router and/or use 5GHz whenever possible. I decided to run speedtest before restarting the router and the first run yielded 50 Mbps and subsequent runs over 80 - the same as my other devices. So I am puzzled. It was consistently down around 25 earlier today while all other devices were over 80.
